EasyJet(U2) is beginning twice weekly flights to Reykjavik Keflavik (KEF) from Paris Orly (ORY) from Sep 3, 2024.
U2 already serves Bristol, London (Gatwick & Luton), Edinburgh, Milan and Manchester from KEF. ORY will be the 7th connection from KEF.
Oman Low Cost Airline SalamAir(OV) has begun accepting bookings for flights from Muscat to Baku in Azerbaijan and Almaty in Kazakhstan.
Flights will be offered twice a week to both cities from June 16.
Dubai giant Emirates (EK) has signed an agreement with Italian carrier ITA Airways (AZ) which will expand their existing interline arrangement into a full codeshare partnership.
The agreement allows EK to put their flight codes on ITA flights from Rome (FCO) to Florence, Palermo, Genoa & Trieste in Italy. EK will also place it's code on ITA flights to Sofia(Bulgaria) and Tirana(Albania). ITA will also be place it's codes on various EK flights out of DXB giving ITA passengers unprecedented global access through EK superhub.
Indian LCC IndiGo(6E) is expanding further with 7 new domestic routes. Beginning March 31, they will operate daily between Chandigarh-Jammu, Amritsar-Hyderabad and Srinagar-Bengaluru, starting from March 31. Flights will be operated by Airbus A32x aircraft.
From April 2, Indigo will be launching 3x weekly flights from Chandigarh (IXC) to Dharamshala (DHM) and Surat(STV) to Pune(PNQ). These Flights will be operated using ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft.
On March 31, Indigo will be opening it's 87th station in Jagdalpur (JGB) in Chattisgarh State with a daily ATR72-600 flight to Hyderabad (HYD) and 4x weekly ATR service to Raipur(RPR).
Maldives flag-carrier Maldivian(Q2) is resuming flights between Hanimaadhoo International Airport(HAQ) and Thiruvananthapuram (TRV), India from April 12.
The route will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Fridays using De Havilland Canada Dash 8-300 Turboprop. They also continue to fly between Male (MLE) and TRV with Airbus A320 aircraft.
AirAsia Malaysia (AK) has begun daily flights from it's base in Kuala Lumpur(KUL) to Perth, Australia (PER) with it's brand new A321neo aircraft.
It's affiliate airline AirAsiaX already operates the route with A330 aircraft. The A321neo, with a flight range of over 5 hours opens up new possibilities for long, thin routes.
